There’s another noteworthy difference between the Mirage and the Outlander Sport. While the Mirage was a hatchback and the Mirage G4 was a sedan, the Outback Sport is an SUV.

What to Expect From the Outlander Sport
The first thing to know about the Outlander Sport is that it isn’t just an entry-level model of the Outlander. While the two SUVs have some similarities in appearance, they’re built on different platforms and feature different engines.
The Outlander Sport is available in five trims with two engine options. The most affordable of the Outlander Sport models is the Outlander Sport 2.0, which features a 148-hp 2.0L 4-cyl engine paired with a CVT automatic transmission and AWD.
Drivers who want extra power will need to spend some extra money. The available 168-hp 2.4L 4-cyl engine is only found in the Outlander Sport 2.4 SEL. This line-topping trim level has a higher but still reasonable starting MSRP of $28,545.
