There’s no denying the excitement that was felt when the first version of the Ram Rebel TRX Concept made its way across the stage to show us a truck that could truly do it all. Whether you looked at this concept as a truck that could get out on the trails and get a lot more done than you thought it could or as another excuse for the FCA team to stuff the Hellcat engine into one of their vehicles, it certainly captured your attention. This incredible truck is one we hoped would come to the market but weren’t sure if it could.
It appears the bean counters at FCA are ready to see if they can get this truck to production, but ever since the time it crossed the stage, all news has been fairly quiet when it comes to the Rebel TRX. You might think a truck that offers us the 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 engine under the hood to push 575 horsepower to the wheels would be something we want to see and talk about more, but that hasn’t been the case for some time. Now, it seems the news is getting stronger that we may see this model on the market soon.
According to the Ram Trucks website, the Rebel TRX has been added to the “upcoming vehicles” category recently and even has its own landing page to make it one that we can expect to see in the next few years. This landing page gets us a bit excited by telling us to “get ready for the off-road king” and if this truck does come to the market, it certainly will be the off-road leader with more power than nearly everything else you would dare take out on the trails to tear up the wilderness.
The Ram Rebel TRX Sounds Like a Lot of Fun
Not only does this truck offer you the power of the engine mentioned, but you’ll see an off-road-ready coil-link rear suspension, bead-lock wheels, knobby tires, widened fender flares, and a racing-inspired interior. These items certainly helped create the frenzy that surrounded this truck when it first appeared on the scene, but the quiet time means we need to remember what made it exciting to start with. This should be a truck that brings in a huge profit for FCA should they put it to market, much the same way the Hellcat and Demon models of the Challenger have done already.
While we don’t know what the production model of the Rebel TRX will be or when to expect it on the market, the fact that FCA has added the online page to introduce this truck and tell us it’s on the way is a good sign. This mode should benefit from being based on the new Ram 1500 and not on the previous model and we’re sure to follow along to see when this amazing truck will finally arrive so that we can have the drive we want in the outdoors.
