FCA is working to find the best way to squeeze every bit of profits out of the Jeep brand to give them a cornerstone for the future.
This brand is the global cash cow for FCA and the brand that can help to solidify the FCA offerings and make sure this company is able to remain profitable for many years. Over the next several years, the Jeep brand is going to have more of what we expect and offer more of what we need in order to continue to be the brand that offers incredible performance and fun.
The plan outlined in the recent meetings in Italy offers us a look at what we can expect to see over the next five years from the Jeep brand. As a brand that currently has several models to choose from, it’s going to be one that will show up with a lineup that expands even farther than we see now to make sure we can have more of what we want when we drive on the roads or head out to the trails for the fun and active drive.
What Will the Jeep Lineup of the Future Look Like?
Right now there are six SUV models offered by Jeep for the drive. These are the Renegade, Compass, Wrangler, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, and in other markets, the Grand Commander. The Jeep brand will likely enter the compact CUV segment with an A-class vehicle that will be offered for the drive on the small and tight roads of Europe and Latin America. This will be a fantastic way to have a small, active, and energetic Jeep that could be one of the hybrid or EV models that will be part of the FCA offering.
Moving forward every model will be refreshed except the Wrangler which just received a complete overhaul for the 2018 model year. In North America, we will see a new Cherokee, a three-row Grand Cherokee, the large and luxurious Wagoneer, and a brand new Grand Wagoneer. The Renegade and Compass will also be upgraded and refreshed to be new for the market while we can also see the new Wrangler-based pickup truck that can be right for the drive you want to make when you head out on the roads every day.
By 2022 there’s a good chance every model offered by Jeep could have at least one plug-in hybrid version to offer a great drive. There may even be some electric models that give us the EV range we want to enjoy. Jeep will also be offered as a brand that can offer you the benefit of a flat monthly fee to drive whichever Jeep model you want to be able to drive. There will be some new insurance plans to cover off-road and fleet models of the Jeep brand and there’s a good chance we’re going to see Level 3 autonomy in some of the vehicles by 2021.
