The Toyota Crown may sound like a new model to those of us in the United States, but this nameplate has been part of Japanese driving culture for many years.

This hybrid powertrain mates to a CVT, and it’s rated to provide 42 city/41 hwy mpg of fuel mileage.
The top-spec Platinum trim uses the new Hybrid Max powertrain, which gives you a 2.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylindner engine and one electric motor, giving drivers 340 horsepower. This powertrain mates with a six-speed automatic transmission. This top-level hybrid powertrain delivers 29 city/32 hwy mpg, which is pretty good for a hybrid with a serious power lean.
The Platinum model is made for comfort
Don’t let the power figures fool you the Crown Platinum is made to be a comfortable vehicle to drive. This model reaches 60 mph in only 5.1 seconds, but it’s tuned to be relaxed on any road. You’ll enjoy the active drive provided by the comfort-tuned suspension and adaptive dampers that make this Toyota smooth and serene on any road.
The Crown replaces the Avalon
If you wonder how the Avalon was so easily replaced in the Toyota lineup, just look at the new Toyota Crown.
