This incredible new EV sedan is built by hand and custom tailored to a buyer’s wishes. This makes the Celestiq more like a Rolls Royce than a Cadillac, which would return the brand to an earlier time when it really was considered a gold standard by buyers and rivals alike.
The Cadillac EV Family
Cadillac is aiming for its gold standard status through the launch of a new family of EV models, which includes the Lyriq SUV and now the Celestiq. The Lyriq is a midsize luxury SUV that will compete with models from Audi, Lexus, Tesla, and Mercedes. However, the Celestiq is aiming a lot higher. Cadillac hopes to create a luxury car that buyers dream about. Ordering a new Celestiq will be a designer’s dream. You can specify every material and fitting, which means no two models will be the same. There’s no doubt that this is a Cadillac model like no other in the modern age.

In fact, the last time Cadillac offered a fully custom-designed and hand-made model was in 1957 with the Eldorado Brougham. Only 400 models of this car were built, and the price for one started at $13,074. Its rival was the hand-built Rolls Royce Silver Wraith, which started at around $9,000. The Cadillac Eldorado Brougham offered 44 trim, leather, and technology combinations, as well as a stainless steel roof, quad headlights, and suicide doors. The Eldorado Brougham was an incredible standard that Cadillac never reproduced in the years since. However, the Celestiq appears to be a step in that legendary direction.
Production Celestiq Coming Soon
The production Celestiq is expected to be available in late 2023. It will be made in a new hand-assembly shop and prices will likely start at around $300,000. Cadillac will build perhaps one car per day and each one will be completely made to order. The Celestiq is designed to show off both the latest in technology and the extent of quality craftsmanship. The GM Ultium battery and the GM electric motor system will power the Celestiq. Not everything is known about the Celestiq for now, but there are some key features to explore.
The Celestiq offers a roomy interior with four seats. The rear seat has a plush, luxurious vibe like a private jet. A 55-inch LED screen stretches almost the entire width of the dashboard and includes all instruments and controls. Digital blinds allow passengers to watch videos without distracting the driver. Seat-specific audio is likely to be another unique feature on the Celestiq, as well as screens for personal video watching. The Celestiq is also likely to offer AWD as an option if not standard.
When the Cadillac Celestiq finally hits the streets, there’s no doubt that it will stand out in a way that very few vehicles are able to achieve.
