The automotive landscape will be filled with dynamic luxury electric vehicles. Cadillac tosses its proverbial hat in the ring with the luxurious Celestiq EV.
This incredible vehicle is sure to be the flagship model for the brand when it arrives in 2025. There not stone left unturned and all the details have been meticulously considered to bring this high-tech wonder to the market. If you’ve been waiting for this American luxury brand to bring something to the mix that would challenge the likes of Mercedes-Benz and Audi, the Celestiq EV is that vehicle.
The Past and Future Collide for Present Excellence
It might not be quite the present, but 2025 will arrive much sooner than any of us think and this new Cadillac vehicle comes in with the model year. The Celestiq uses elements from the Lyriq SUV while delivering sleek lines, a sweeping roof, and a high rear end. The look become incredible with elements that come from the past blended perfectly with the high-tech qualities that take Cadillac into the future. This new EV isn’t just a flashy concept meant to capture our attention and then disappoint when the production model arrives. Instead, this is the car we will see; at least that’s what Cadillac is telling us.
Moving Inside Brings Continued Drama for this Electric Car
When you open the doors to the Cadillac Celestiq EV, the first thing that grabs your attention is the stunning 55-inch digital dashboard. Once your gaze moves away from this technological marvel, you see the impressive bright red leather upholstery that doesn’t look out of place in a luxury car. The bucket seats are welcoming and the build of this cabin begins to get you excited for a drive that pure joy when you hit the road.
A New Method of Production for Cadillac
Certainly, we can look back several decades to the early days of Cadillac and find some hand-built models, but that was long ago. The Celestiq EV carries a price tag and presence that demands only the greatest attention to detail for this car. Customers buying this EV will receive treatments similar to that found only at Rolls-Royce with a small team of experts crafting each Celestiq EV by hand. Toss in the EV powertrain and you’ve got a car that should surpass many of the other luxury names.
Let’s Up the Luxury Ante
What makes a luxury car that much more desirable? The two most common answers are exclusivity and uniqueness. Each Cadillac Celestiq EV will be built to order and in limited numbers. This isn’t a car you can find at your local dealer and probably will never see on at a used car lot. This car brings customization to the Cadillac name to open new doors for the luxury arm of GM. The starting price will likely be around $300,000 and customers might have to wait months before their car is built.
Don’t Expect Ultium Batteries in this Car
We know the new Lyriq EV will use the Ultium batteries, which have proved effective in the GMC Hummer EV, but the new Celestiq EV is on a completely different driving plane than these vehicles. We don’t have answers for what powertrain will be offered or the performance numbers, but we know this flagship sedan will have AWD and four-wheel steering. This should mean at least two electric motors, one driving each axle. If Cadillac has the Model S Plaid in its sights, the target acceleration will be incredible when this car arrives.
What if the Celestiq Uses Ultium Batteries?
If the new Cadillac Celestiq EV uses a set of Ultium batteries, the pack could be as large as 100 kWh and offer a driving range of at least 300 miles on a single charge. By the time this new EV is ready for production, better batteries and longer driving ranges could be the norm, which is why we don’t expect to see these batteries in this ultra-luxurious flagship sedan. If this car is expected to keep up with the top models in the industry, the driving range should surpass the current Lucid Air sedan which delivers 516 miles of driving on a single charge.
The Infotainment Isn’t Only for the Driver
The massive 55-inch touchscreen spans the entire length of the car’s dashboard in the new Celestiq, but that’s not the only screen in this sedan. Rear passengers will also have their own screens to use for watching movies, surfing the web, or controlling the stereo through headphones. The audio system in this upscale Caddy should be a premium AKG unit that will likely incorporate speakers into the headrests for each seat inside this incredible car. This stereo could give passengers everything they want when its time for a concert-level listening experience.
Super Cruise Could Evolve When this Cadillac Arrives
The trouble with looking more than two years ahead in the current auto industry is that things are moving extremely fast. What looks futuristic and amazing this year will be a forgotten or evolved product in one or two years. We expect the Cadillac Celestiq EV to include some form of the GM Super Cruise, but by 2025, this could be a new item called Ultra Cruise. That could make it easy for you to be completely hands-free on many roads for hours at a time, but that’s still yet to be seen.
This New Caddy Takes the Flag
Its hard to argue with the incredible elegance, sophistication, and presence that comes with the new Celestiq EV. All we can do is hope this amazing sedan arrives with the same build, style, and promises that we have right now. You can bet that as we move closer to this new Cadillac electric sedan arriving in the market, we’re going to go over every detail with nearly as much detail as the team of experts putting each one together by hand for customers willing to shell out the dough to drive this incredible car.
