2012 Ford Escape
The top Ford Escape model is the 2012 model. This model was the last of the second generation made before the Escape underwent a major redesign for the new generation in 2013. This Escape still featured more of an SUV look versus the more carlike crossover look that it has now. The 2012 Escape has plenty of room in the rear seat, a good amount of available tech features, and respectable fuel economy. It now retails for an average price between $8,800 and $9,900.
2008 Ford Escape
The biggest change for the 2008 Escape was four-wheel disc brakes, which replaced the previous layout of rear drum brakes and front disc brakes. Another major change was the engine, which gave it a 3.0-liter V6 and reduced its fuel consumption by about 10%. A redesigned interior was also in the cards for this model year, and that yielded a quieter cabin and even more space and comfort for the rear seats. The exterior for this model year was also retouched to give it a tougher look. This Escape is quite affordable now at around $5,000.
2010 Ford Escape Hybrid
The 2010 Ford Escape Hybrid returned some great gas mileage for the time at 29 MPG combined, which was better than average for a vehicle its size at the time. Along with the good gas mileage, the 2010 Escape Hybrid offered a roomy interior, good tech features, and a less expensive price versus rivals. The 2006 Ford Escape is obviously quite old now, and you can likely find it for a steal on the used market. Back when it came out, it featured a redesigned front bumper and grille, plus new headlights and LED taillights. The interior was also significantly upgraded and featured an automatic transmission shifter. If you can find one with low mileage, this is a great budget model.
2016 Ford Escape
Jumping forward ten years, we get to the 2016 Escape, which looks quite a bit different from the earlier models with its carlike exterior styling. This Escape model ranked near the top of its class and featured a spacious cabin, peppy engine options, carlike handling, and a new SYNC 3 system to replace the MyFord Touch infotainment system. The 2016 Ford Escape now retails for around $20,000 or less depending on mileage and features.
