Hyundai Hybrids - Which Models Are Available

As hybrid vehicles are increasingly in high demand, savvy automakers have been expanding hybrid lineups. Hyundai is one of those automakers with a wide range of hybrid models to choose from. They offer both Hyundai hybrid and plug-in hybrid models for several of its popular models, including the Hyundai Santa Fe, Hyundai Tucson, and Hyundai Sonata.

Hyundai Santa Fe

The Hyundai Santa Fe comes in both a hybrid version and a plug-in hybrid version. The hybrid model offers standard AWD, excellent fuel economy, a long list of standard features, and a spacious interior. The Santa Fe hybrid is a well-rounded SUV that has a reasonable starting price of $34,975.

The Santa Fe plug-in hybrid also offers standard AWD and a combined fuel economy of 33 MPG. The range for electric-only is 31 miles. This is the most fuel-efficient version of the Hyundai Santa Fe, and it starts at a slightly higher price than the regular hybrid model at $39,500.

Hyundai Hybrid Cars

Like the Hyundai Santa Fe, the Sonata is one of Hyundai’s most popular models, and it comes in a hybrid and plug-in hybrid model. The hybrid Sonata models get excellent gas mileage at up to 54 on the highway. A high-quality interior meets sharp styling and advanced technology to make the Sonata one of the top-selling Hyundai car models.

Another Hyundai car model that comes in hybrid versions is the Ioniq. This smaller car comes in both a plug-in hybrid version and a regular hybrid version. Like the Sonata, Hyundai Ioniq gets fantastic gas mileage at 59 MPG combined for the regular hybrid. The plug-in hybrid gets 52 MPG combined and 119 MPG combine only on the electric motor.

Hyundai Tucson

The Tucson is one of Hyundai’s other SUV models aside from the Hyundai Santa Fe. Like the Santa Fe, it comes in both a regular hybrid and a plug-in hybrid. the Tucson is a slightly smaller SUV vs. the Santa Fe and it offers a lower starting price at $30,595 for the regular hybrid and $36,145 for the plug-in hybrid. The gas mileage on both hybrid models is excellent at 38 combined for the regular model and 35 combined for the plug-in model.

The Tucson offers a lot of power for its size and comes with standard AWD on every hybrid model. The hybrid powertrain is also quicker than the standard Tucson with 226 total horsepower vs. the standard model’s 187 horsepower.

Currently, these are the main models offered in Hyundai’s lineup. As most automakers are increasing their economical vehicle lineup, it’s likely that Hyundai will eventually offer hybrid versions of nearly every model at some point. For families wanting an efficient, roomy, and powerful SUV, the Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid models offer the best choice.
