It’s no secret that the Audi R8 is a car that’s built to be fast, sleek, powerful, and quick on the track to offer exceptional performance.
This impressive car is one that you can easily admire and enjoy when you get behind the wheel, but Audi has recently improved the R8 to give us more of what we want when it’s time to head out for some fun. The new version of the R8 is called the R8 Performance model and it’s ready to bring the heat and give you the power that you’ll want to enjoy when you take it on the track.
The Two Audi R8 Models Compared
If you’re looking for a bit of a subdued version of the R8, you could check out the standard model which brings you 570 horsepower for the drive. The move to the Performance model is one that makes it possible for you to reach 612 horsepower and be the model that replaces the outgoing R8 V10 Plus. This new version of the R8 is able to give you a top speed of 201 mph while the convertible R8 Performance Spyder model can reach 200 mph. The coupe is capable of accelerating to sixty mph in 3.1 seconds while the Spyder can make the run in 3.2 seconds.
The R8 Reflects a Racing Version
The Recent Paris Motor Show gave us a look at the new R8 GT3 Evo race car, which looks more like the standard R8 than any other racing version in the past. Audi has stated that the two cars share nearly fifty percent of their parts and sixty percent of the parts with the R8 LMS GT4 which is another class of racing for the R8, making the Audi R8 a car that shares more with the racing versions than any other model.
Added Performance for the Audi R8
The new R8 Performance model is one that not only offers you more power, but it has a more aggressive front fascia, a larger rear diffuser, new side skirts, and new LED headlights and taillights. We should see new wheels and other options added to the mix as we get closer to the launch date of this impressive new model that will be right for those of us who want to enjoy the possibility of a racing version of the Audi R8 and take it to the track while also enjoying it on the road.
Offering a Closer Look
We should get to have a closer look at the new Audi R8 when the Los Angeles Auto Show arrives. The new R8 and R8 Performance models will be on display at this show. This car will go on sale in Europe and will follow in the US, with no date set for the sale of this car. This is a car that we can look forward to when it shows up in LA, and know that it shares a lot of parts with the racing models that make the circuit around the world.
