Jeep Continues to be the Sales Leader for FCA

Over the past few years, FCA hasn’t made any secret that Jeep is one of the cash cows of the company and their investments show this should continue.

As an automotive group that encompasses the Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, and Fiat brands, we’ve seen many of the brands trimmed down to only a few offerings while two brands have grown to continue to bring us more of the vehicles we want to experience when it’s time to head out on the road. Jeep has been one of the two brands that carry the torch the most for the company and June wasn’t any exception at all.

The Sales Lead in Canada for Jeep

Looking at the sales that take place in the country to our north where the terrain is more rugged and widespread than it is in the United States, it makes perfect sense for Jeep to be a serious sales leader in the country. Even though you might expect the Wrangler to be the top model, the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee names reign supreme and were the leading names for Jeep in Canada. Overall, the brand was up 22 percent for the year so far and has been able to show an increase of six percent compared to the previous June.

The Jeep Cherokee was the top-selling model for Jeep in Canada last month with an increase of 41 percent compared to the previous June. The Grand Cherokee saw an impressive increase as well with sales growth of 13 percent during the month. The Wrangler did see an impressive change with an increase of four percent for the month, making it easy to see how the Jeep brand is able to continue to be the top brand for the FCA family of vehicles.

Chrysler Also Showed Promise

While being cut to only two models, the Chrysler brand name still holds a great deal of respect and can provide success in Canada. The brand sale and increase of three percent compared to June of last year with the Pacifica being an amazing performer. This incredible minivan saw an impressive sales increase of 38 percent compared to a year ago to show that buyers still want a minivan, but they want that minivan to be one that’s offered with more technology and even a hybrid powertrain they can enjoy when they take it out on the road.

Other Results from FCA Brands

For June, Dodge saw the Durango sell at an increased rate of 16 percent for the month to give the brand some impressive numbers. The Ram brand declined by 21 percent for June, but the new 2019 Ram 1500 will help turn this around as will the inclusion of the new Ram 1500 Classic which will be perfect for fleet and entry-level shoppers. Unfortunately, the Fiat brand saw a decline of 40 percent compared to the same month only a year before. With strong sales from the Jeep brand, FCA continues to see impressive success in Canada.
