Your local Buick dealer is about to go through some significant changes. While vehicles like the Encore, Envision, and Enclave continue to inspire drivers around the globe, the future of this luxury brand is drawing even more attention. Read on to learn more about the newest Buick vehicles coming to a Buick dealer near you.
Fueling the Change
Buick leadership recently announced that it will offer a full lineup of electric vehicles by 2030, with the first option hitting the streets in 2024. This accouchement comes with Buick’s updated
logo, which helps drivers know that this company means business. Buick unveiled its first concept vehicle under its new mission, the Wildcat EV. The name of this concept vehicle comes from the archives of Buick vehicles of the past. The new version of this classic nameplate features an all-electric design: a sleek look, a sophisticated interior, and plenty of advanced techs. Whether all of the ideas incorporated in this concept vehicle will make it to market, have yet to be seen. For example, the Wildcat EV’s onboard systems, including artificial intelligence, biometrics, and aromatherapy, can detect when the driver’s heart rate elevates. When this happens, the car enables “Zen Mode,” which involves dimming the cabin lights, releasing calming aromatherapy scents, and activating the driver’s massage seat.
The Future of Electra
As Buick moves forward with its plan to go green, future vehicles will feature the name Electra. This name is also a callback to a classic luxury car from Buick’s past. The new version of the
Electra is an electric SUV. Recent spotting of prototype versions of the Electra shows a similar design to the Wildcat EV prototype. Drivers are sure to love the futuristic lines and updated
tech throughout the cabin. Based on Buick’s recently registered trademarks, the Electra nameplate will cover a full list of EVs. It looks like your Buick dealer may have options ranging from the Electra E1 through the Electra E9 over the next decade or so. It’s unclear whether the Electric will first launch in China or the U.S. market, but this rig is expected to start cruising in 2024.
The Return of the Century
Buick fans remember the Century nameplate, but they haven’t been able to find one of these cars at a Buick dealer in years. Right now, if you want to take home one of this ultra-luxury
minivans, you’ll have to do your shopping in China. It’s unclear if Buick will bring this minivan to North America, but there’s always hope. Shoppers can bring home a Century with either four seats or six seats. Either way, they’ll love the Nappa leather, massage seats, and five-way heating options. As you can imagine, the Century is meant to chauffeur the rich and powerful across China.
