Future Car Tech That Could Change Our Lives

Future Car Tech That Could Change Our Lives

What will the future of car tech hold for us? Will we finally see a time when cars can drive themselves and take us wherever we need to go?

Without going that far, we see technology improving every year, making our lives a little easier. Most of us are not likely to trust our vehicles to do all of the driving. Still, we can imagine a time in the future when our cars offer much more for every driver, especially when you think about the technology involved in going where you want to every day.

Future Cars Won’t Pollute the Atmosphere

The future should offer us a carbon-free driving experience. We’re already on the way to using electric vehicles instead of ones with gasoline engines, but electricity might not be the future. We could see a time when biofuel or e-fuels power our rides to give us zero emissions into the atmosphere. That lack of emissions could benefit everyone and allow us to live in a cleaner world without smog or pollutants coming from the exhaust pipes of the vehicles we drive.

Smarter Headlights Are Coming

We already have a future car tech items with automatic high beams, which turn themselves off when they detect oncoming traffic. Sometimes, turning to the regular headlights isn’t enough for other drives. Scientists are working on a set of headlights that shade the part of the light that shines into oncoming traffic without reducing the visibility for the driver. This could be helpful to other drivers on the road. Many of us experience bright lights that seem to shine right in our faces when driving at night.

EVs that Charge Faster and Last Longer

Do you remember the first Nissan Leaf models? Those first few electric cars didn’t give us much in the way of driving range, but they sold like crazy. Today, many of the EVs we see offer an electric driving range that’s close to what you’ll find in a gasoline vehicle. The only downside to EVs right now; is charging time. We can easily imagine a future where charging an electric car takes the same amount of time as it does to fill a tank of gas today. That is the future we want to see.

AR Dashboard Panels are Getting Better

We already see some head-up displays that are more advanced than others, but one of the future car tech items we should see is AR dashboards and displays. These augmented reality features could show you the car on the road as it sits, giving you the position and information desired. Your system could do more than simply predict what other vehicles will do; it can help you see around corners and know what you’re coming up on to drive more calmly to your destination.

Charging is Continuous Wherever You Go

You won’t find charging on the road during your drive, but every time you stop at an intersection, your batteries get a little more juice. This could seriously benefit drives who spend much of their time in the city. This would be a massive infrastructure change, but it could happen. Imagine your car batteries charging the same way you charge your phone when you set it on the wireless pad in your car now. That could be the future for you.

Widespread V2V Communication

Some vehicles communicate with others over the V2V or vehicle-to-vehicle communication network, but the future car tech would be more widespread. In fact, it’s highly likely there will be a time when no vehicles can drive on the road without V2V communication. This would mean adaptors could be added to older models to ensure they communicate safely with other cars around them. Will this tech continue to grow? The future holds the answers to that particular question.

A Futuremobile that You Don’t Have to Drive

Why not imagine a time when you won’t have to drive your car. Maybe this vehicle has items to make the environment more pleasing, including anti-odor contraptions for when your son decides it’s a good idea to let out a fart in the car. Various tech can integrate to allow blind passengers to visualize the area around them and for others to see pleasing arrays of landscapes and scenery as well. A world where you only have to sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride; how does that sound?

Upgraded Night Vision Capabilities

Do you remember when the ultrasound used to see a baby in a woman’s womb looked like nothing but static? It’s amazing doctors could discern the parts of a child and see what they wanted with those machines. Today’s night vision tech is similar to these old ultrasound machines. Hopefully, better night vision is a future car tech, much the way ultrasound machines can show you clearer details of an unborn baby today.

Regulatory Freedom with People Taken Out of the Mix

With autonomous technology in vehicles, by this time, proven and completely accepted, designers, gain some freedom from regulatory bodies because there aren’t car crashes anymore. This means designers can build a car they want to see, not one that meets the needs of drivers that fail more often than they succeed. The possible shapes, styles, and builds are endless in a world without car crashes to take away the imaginative part of driving. We could have some seriously cool cars on the road in the future.

Body Panels that Recharge the Batteries

We’ve already seen some future car tech with the roof panels that have solar patches made to power some of the features in a car. That is only the beginning. How about a car made entirely of solar panel body panels that would keep the batteries charged at all times? The driving range could be endless, and you wouldn’t have to pay for solar, it’s free. That is something we might all enjoy in the future, and it is a possibility.

The future of car technology is incredible. We can imagine a world with many changes that could seriously improve our lives when traveling every day.
