Jeep Gladiator 4xe Coming in 2024

If you’re looking to drive the Jeep Gladiator 4xe, you’re going to have to wait a little longer than you might expect. We know the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee will receive the 4xe treatment for 2022, but the Gladiator’s electrified version will not arrive for a couple more years.

While you sit there and get frustrated, anxious, and impatient about this announcement, you might feel better knowing why this delay is taking place. Jeep will refresh the Wrangler as part of its mid-cycle scheduled refresh for 2023, which also means a refresh for the Gladiator. Once these updates are complete, the electrified version of the Jeep truck will be offered.

What Makes the Electrified Jeeps Attractive?

Anytime you can have a vehicle made for adventures that can make the fuel you put into it last a lot longer, that’s a bonus. Toss in the fact that the Jeep 4xe models have the power you desire for your drive, and you’ve got something truly special.

The current 4xe powertrain brings you a pair of electric motors and a turbocharged four-cylinder engine to give you 375 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. Of torque. This power setup is attached to the TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission to put that power to the wheels where you need them.

This powertrain might receive upgrades before we have the Gladiator 4xe, but that’s still yet to be seen.

Three Driving Modes for the 4xe Models

The Jeep Wrangler 4xe is the model using this powertrain that has been in the market the longest right now.
Three distinct driving modes with different settings give you the most out of your powertrain.

Those settings and results are:

  • HYBRID – With this setting, you have a blend of power from the engine and the electric motors.
You’ll use the battery power first but then use the gasoline engine as needed.
  • ELECTRIC – When you select this setting, you’re going to drive using only electric power until the minimum charge is reached. At that point, the gasoline engine will take over.
  • eSAVE – Saves the battery for later and has you using the gasoline engine. When heading out on the trails or taking this SUV to the lake or outdoor location, this is the setting you want.

With these three settings in the 4xe models, you can see how easy it can be to conserve fuel or battery power for when you need it.

What if You want a Jeep Gladiator Now?

Thankfully, if you’re not in the mood to wait for the electrified version of the Gladiator, you can buy the truck you want to drive. Sure, it will be cool for you to have the hybrid model of this truck and use the 4xe powertrain, but if you’re ready for a Jeep truck, you can buy a current model of the Gladiator.

This truck is one of the most hardcore off-road vehicles in the market, and it offers you a truck build to give you the payload and towing capacity needed for some fun out on the trails.

There’s Nothing Like it

When you’re driving the Gladiator, you’ll have the familiar Jeep features that have been used and admired for the Wrangler for many years. You’ll be glad to have the Dana 44 solid axles in the front and rear to give you the capability needed on the trails. This truck makes it possible to climb rocks, handle the mud, go through the sand, and be out in the wilderness when you’re ready for some fun and adventures.

Hook up a trailer filled with your camping gear and let this truck take you where you want to go. Take along some friends or family members and see how easy it is for you to have a party in the woods, reach a remote stretch of beach, or go out in the field where you can see all the stars of the sky.

With the towing capacity of 7,500 pounds and a payload of 1,700 pounds, you’re sure to have plenty of strength in the Jeep Gladiator to take everything you need to with you during your drive.
