If you need to tow a boat or camper with your Expedition, it can handle up to 9,300 pounds.
The 2023 Sequoia arrives completely redesigned and with a new powertrain. The standard iForce MAX hybrid powertrain has a 3.4-liter V-6 engine and an electric motor that combine to put out 437 horsepower. Acceleration is quick in this family SUV too. It can get to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds. Need to tow? No problem; it can now pull up to 9,520 pounds.
In SUVs, it’s All About the Cabin Space
Both the Ford Expedition and the Toyota Sequoia have massive cabins. The three rows of seats give up to eight people plenty of space to spread out. If you want captain’s chairs in the second row, there’s still room for seven. Every Expedition has a power-folding third row that can be controlled either from the cargo area or the back seats, so there’s no manual flipping or folding, no matter which trim you have.
The Sequoia has 12 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, and if you need more, this folds down, but folding down the third row does not give you a flat load floor.
Both SUVs Offer Tech Features for Everyone
You can’t miss the massive 12-inch touchscreen that sits in the middle of the Ford Expedition’s dashboard. You’ll notice it as soon as you get in, but this is the smaller screen. The King Ranch and Platinum have a 15.5-inch touchscreen. Both work with a wireless version of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and come with a Wi-Fi hotspot.
The Sequoia has a 14-inch touchscreen for all but the entry-level trim, and it also comes with a Wi-Fi hotspot and Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
